Baby Boomer Gram – I’m Going on a Magical Mystery Tour

Roll up, roll up for the mystery tour.Roll up, roll up for the mystery tour.Roll up AND THAT’S AN INVITATION, roll up for the mystery tour.Roll up TO MAKE A RESERVATION, roll up for the mystery tour. The magical mystery tour is waiting to take you away,Waiting to take you away.- Lennon/McCartney

Well, I’m being taken for a ride tomorrow. So to speak. By my DDs, Charming Son-in-Law & ‘lil Moomette. Of course, DH will be tagging along too. Except nobody’s telling me where I’m going. Ironic, because I’m usually told “where to go” by most people!

Baby Boomer Gram here calls it a Magical Mystery Tour – a/k/a “Road Trip.”

It seems that DD #1, probably is going to Vermont for Mother’s Day (charming son-in-law’s originally from VT.) So, both my DDs put their collaborative heads together and have come up with a way to honor and celebrate (correction, torture) me with the fact that I’m their mother.
Here’s my instructions:
  • Be ready early.
  • Dress up and wear something nice (no way, I need a new wardrobe)
  • Do my hair & makeup
  • Bring padded bicycle shorts
  • Bring sneakers
Now, I feel there’s a conflict here. Bicycle shorts? Umm..I don’t think so. Reminds me of the award my niece won for participating in a bicycle marathon from Montreal to Maine ~ she won the “Best Behind to be Behind” award. I don’t think that would apply to me. Anyhow, I digress.
More hints from DDs ~
  • It’s about an hour away. Ok. So that rules out the Gold Coast, Boston, Newport, NYC & the Cape.
Can’t be Vermont either.
  • I haven’t been there in a long, long time, if at all. Hmm, I’ve been many places, and they know my favorites. So if it’s none of the above, what’s left?
I asked if it involved food (like Brunch maybe?) Perhaps to divert me, they said ‘no.’ I might not be interested in this junket after all then.
It’s great having adult daughters. They’ll be the death of me yet.
I’ll let ya’ll know where I ended up.
