INTERNET MARKETING RESOURCES for your eBay Stores or WAHM eBiz eCommerce sites on Traffic Exchanges~CINNAMON HOLLOW TRAFFIC EXCHANGE
January 25, 2008 by Moomette's Magnificents (Admin)
In previous posts, I talked about the benefits of FREE ADVERTISING Internet Marketing for your Blogs, eBay Stores or WAHM eBiz eCommerce sites on Traffic Exchanges.
Another great site I came across and now advertise on is CINNAMON HOLLOW TRAFFIC EXCHANGE.
The general premise is the same. The more you surf, the more exposure your site(s) get! I use it for all of my sites, my eBay Store, Moomettes Magnificents, this Blog as well as my Reviews and Recipes and Mama Mentor blogs.
The surf ratio is 2:1. Don’t always have time to surf? You can buy “hits” for a nominal fee. The more you surf, the more exposure you gain through “hits”. Although you never see your own site when you surf. You can add banner, web sites or text adverts or your blog listings. Again, only family friendly, and non-frame breaker sites.
For a nominal fee, you can upgrade to PRO. The benefits of Pro include enhanced surf ratios, impressions and downline builders.
Cinnamon Hollow also offers a Plugboard & Advertising Cafe. Any questions you may have are also answered in a professional, timely manner.
Fridays are AUTO SURF Days ~ All Day!
Grab the brass ring & get on-board with this family-friendly site~

IncreaseTraffic for your Blog, eBay Store or eBiz by Guest Blogging! Meet Canada’s Baby Boomer Bloggin Gram!
January 25, 2008 by Moomette's Magnificents (Admin)
Filed under Guest Posts, internet marketing, recipes
Hello from glorious North Vancouver Island off Canada’s West Coast. My name is Cynthia and I’m pleased to be Cindi’s ‘guest blogger’ today.
Like Cindi, I’m a blogging Boomer Gram– she and I met on the Grandparent Bloggers group on Blogcatalog (and if this also describes you, please join us!). Most of my previous off-line career was spent as a social worker, counseling women who had experienced relationship abuses. In June 2004 I volunteered to help out with our Association’s National Convention, and then I promptly went into six months (overdue) stress leave, and that led to “early retirement”. We sold out in Saskatoon (hmm… sounds like a country tune) and moved west to where our younger son was living.
We bought a big 70s box of a house with glimpses of Comox Harbor.
For a while we were a multi-family household, sharing space with our two adult kids, daughter-in-law and grandbaby. Today it is back to being just the old fella and I, chatting back and forth between offices across the foyer from each other. He does his financial wizardry (thank goodness!)with the stock market and I, like Cindi, am immersed in the more socio-economic on-line world. I have a few bob-lines out there in the ether as an internet affiliate, a long-ish term involvement with network marketing in Young Living Essential Oils and I’m working on a recent project to bring the affiliates and the network marketing together into a successful monetized business site. I’m really excited about that enterprise. My downline and I are working together to help each other with a synergy that just didn’t exist before. We have an exciting sense of “coming into our power” as creative, self-directed women of rich, varied life experiences. Take a look around the Web today and see what is evolving… women are a presence to be reckoned with!
Like Cindi, I found my way into internet marketing via blogs. Don’t blogs seem like a natural and womanly medium for communication? Many of us mid-life women have ventured out from the more introspective blogs (although we often continue build that in)into a nice knit of wisdom, warmth and market savvy. In effect, we’ve moved from the ‘home’ into the cyber-bazaar, chatting amongst the stalls, sharing our daily musings and our experiences while talking up our carefully selected wares for sale. I don’t think there is a category of blogs that women are not represented in as leaders. It’s our ‘thing’. Because women are traditionally the ‘keepers of the flame’– the nurturers and home-keepers– it is no surprise to find that smart, eco-conscious women are also driving the market. Cindi’s involvement with Affordable Mineral Make-Up is an example of that trend. Do you find that on any men’s blogsites yet?
I have selected a couple of my blogs for your sampling: my Granny Xpress blogs (I have one in Wordpress and one in Blogger formats) allow me to explore what it means for me to be a grandmother in the 21st Century. I blog about my fascination with alternative health and wellness at Raw Genesis and Healthia Cynthia sites. And in my Whirled Soup Blog I get into the real heart of nurturing with soup recipes and lore. If you want healthy vegetarian soup recipes delivered right to your email box, Click Here and fill out the form in the left border.
Thanks, Cindi, this was fun! I look forward to your ‘guest blog’ on my GrannyX site!

Plugboards~How to Use It To Advertise Your eBay or WAHM eBiz Sites
January 20, 2008 by Moomette's Magnificents (Admin)
More good information to pass on for any WAHM or Dad who has an eBay Store, eCommerce or eBiz! Plugboards are a great way to get the word out on either your new or existing business. To effectively make use of Plugboards, create a sub-directory in your Bookmark file, and keep re-visting it when your site ‘falls off the board’. Successful Power Sellers use them all the time. If you don’t have a plug-sized banner, many Graphic Designers are available on banner exchange sites and surf sites such as Shopping With Moms, or there’s a link on my side panel to
Ready Banner where you can create one for free or a nominal fee to remove text.
There’s a Plug Board on Moomette’s Magnificents Olde Towne Shoppes & my Blog, so please PLUG away!
Read on for more good info:
WHAT IS A PLUGBOARD AND HOW CAN I USE IT TO ADVERTISE MY SITE? by Stephanie Davies
A plugboard, as they are termed, is a small script that runs on a website that allows you free advertising of your own website or URL. There are several types of plugboards out there, and we will go over those individual types in a moment, but first let’s get the idea of how a plugboard actually works.
A plugboard has a set number of spaces or “slots” for advertising. The basic idea is that you enter your own information for your website in the space provided, and your advertisement is placed at the bottom space in the plugboard. When you add your “plug” or website information, the advertisement at the top of the plugboard, which has been there the longest, is then pushed off, or removed from, the plugboard. As others add their own website advertisements, your own advertisement will be moved further up the spaces on the plugboard. Eventually, after you have been pushed up through all the spaces on the board, your own advertisement will be removed, and you will have to revisit that board and re-enter your information again.
As I mentioned, there are several different types of plugboards available. The most common one is a button plugboard, which will require you to have an 88×31 sized button that represents your website. If you do not have a button, or know how to make one, there are many reasonably priced places on the internet to get one made. My own business sells them at $5 per button, which is a low price for banner or button design. Once you have your button, you would upload your button to your own website server, or to a picture hosting service on the internet, and then place the URL to your button on the space provided in the plugboard. Then you would specify the URL to your own website as well. Then your button would be placed on the board once you submit that information, in the bottom space on the board.
There are also regular sized banner plugboards that use 468×60 banners, which work the same way as the other plugboards only with full sized banners instead of the smaller buttons. You may also run into text link plugboards, which are much less common that the other types, however they are just as useful for advertising purposes.
As plugboards are a free resource for advertising, they should be used if you encounter one. It never hurts to add your advertisement to a plugboard. You also may wish to bookmark the site that you have added your advertisement to, as you generally aren’t notified when you have reached the top of the plugboard and your add has been removed. Visit the site every so often to check to see if your ad is still there on the board, and if it isn’t, take the time to re-submit your information.
Plugboards are abundant on the internet, and can be found in a large number of places. You may also do a Google search for “plugboard” that will net you a ton of results for places you can list your website on free plugboards. Overall, they are a much-overlooked, and very positive method of advertising your business.

How to Get Your College Degree Online While Staying Home with your Kids
January 14, 2008 by Moomette's Magnificents (Admin)
Filed under business, career opportunities, sahm, wahm
Now that I’ve teased you with thinking about either starting or going back to college to finish up your degree, let me tell you a little bit about how and why I did it this way.
I switched jobs from the private sector to the public sector, and worked for a brilliant, personable female attorney about my age who soon became my mentor. I realized that unless I finished up, my career would be dead-ended. Another reason I wanted to go back to college was to set an example for my two young daughters. I wanted them to see how important it was to pursue higher education in order to succeed.
After obtaining my Associates Degree at Charter Oak State College, I discovered Regents College, in Albany New York. Regents has now become Excelsior College. I can’t say enough about the programs that Excelsior offers, including majors in Business, Nursing and more, all obtainable online. I was also able to take correspondence courses from University of Wisconsin, and CLEP & DSST testing, all of which transferred to Excelsior. My degree was granted through the University of the State of New York.
I’ll talk more about accredited correspondence courses as well as CLEP & DANTES testing in my next posts.

Online Degrees Becoming More Popular ~Finish Your College Education
January 7, 2008 by Moomette's Magnificents (Admin)
Filed under Veranda Chit Chat, baby boomer, career opportunities, family, sahm, wahm, wahm tips
One of my New Year’s Resolutions is to try to encourage anyone who has put off finishing their College Education to seriously consider signing up and doing it this year
When I was thinking of going back when I was in my 40s, I said to my DH, that it was going to take me 5 years to finish part-time. He said, well~~ how old will you be in 5 years? Yes, I’d be 5 years older. He then said,”well, you’re going to be 5 years older anyway, so you could be 5 years older either with, or without the degree.” That convinced me.
I’d like to share a few articles that support the benefit of taking online computer courses in order to finish your college education and obtain a Degree.
Whether you’re a WAHM, SAHM, Baby Boomer Senior, or just simply interested in exploring a new subject, online courses are pefect for keeping one’s mind active.
Perhaps the most significant change in higher education in the United States over the past several years has been the rapid growth in online education programs offered by major colleges and universities. The number of schools offering these programs has been steadily increasing over the past 5 years and the trend shows no signs of changing anytime soon.
One of the biggest advantages to online education is the huge advantages it presents to working adults. Previously working adults found it difficult to manage a full time job, often a family and going to classes in the evening. Online education has allowed working adults the opportunity to further their education while at the same time giving the student time to still hold down a job and manage a family.
One of the most important items to look for when considering an online education is accreditation. Many of the online programs are offered by accredited universities but some are not so make sure you do your home work regarding accreditation.
Obtaining an online degree requires the same amount of class time and study hours as does attending a campus based school. The main advantage is the ability to do the work on your schedule and without the hassle of a commute. In most cases students have access to the university’s real instructors. This is something that you need to make certain is offered.
The types of degrees offered via online courses also has increased greatly over the past few years. Not only can you obtain an associate or bachelor’s degree online, but you can now study and obtain a masters or in some cases a doctorate via online learning.
Obtaining a college degree gives you increased or enhanced earning power as you advance through your career. You are far more likely to be looked on for promotion if you have earned your degree or are attending college to further your education than those who are not attending college or do not have a degree.
Online education has totally revolutionized the way people look at their educational futures. Gone are the days when you finished high school and had to decide on whether to get a full
time job or attend college. Young adults now are free to do both, working a full time job while at the same time working towards their college degree by studying online from the comfort of their home.
Online education is likely to become even more popular over the coming years. The advantages to potential students are many, allowing more time for other activities, whether that be work or family, the opportunities offered by colleges and universities offering online degree programs are very apparent to the potential student.
