K’NEX Sesame Street Cookie Monster Building Set ~ A Review

Filed under Reviews & Buzz, Veranda Chit Chat, children, kids, parenting

My granddaughter, ‘Lil Moomette is going to be turning Two this October ~ I can’t believe how quickly time has flown by ~ it seems like just yesterday that I became a grandmother for the first time.
Actually, my daughter and Charming Son-In-Law have also presented me with a grandson this past August!
‘Lil Moomette is such a hoot, and a smart cookie at that, if I may say so myself (must take after her Grandmother.) Her vocabulary is so advanced and she speaks in 6 and 7- word sentences. Grandmothers can brag, can’t they?
I’m delighted to have the opportunity to review the Sesame Street Cookie Monster Building Set, by K’NEX.
K’Nex Imagine ~ Build ~ Play is the next generation of construction sets. It inspires creativity, builds self-confidence and encourages interaction among children and parents.
The Cookie Monster Building Set Build includes fun stickers and an educational “Play & Learn” activity sheet for parent & child to do together. It also includes a handy storage canister for easy clean-up.
There are 15 pieces, Including Kid K’NEX rods, connectors and blocks, plus specially-designed character hands, eyes and Cookie Monster’s favor food, which of course, is ~ the COOKIE!

Recommended ages are 2 –5. The product retails for approximately $10.99
Together, Gram and ‘Lil Moomette had quite a bit of fun assembling this cute set, and it is definitely age-appropriate. The K’NEX Sesame Street Cookie Monster Building Set will stay at Grandma’s house ~ giving ‘Lil Moomette a special creative, educational toy to play with when she comes over again.

Start Getting Your Business Organized Now for 2009 ~ Operation Internet Marketing Spring Clean Up Starts Soon
September 27, 2008 by Moomette's Magnificents (Admin)
Filed under VA, Veranda Chit Chat, blog resources, business, career opportunities, e-commerce, internet marketing, networking, wahm, wahm tips, work at home
My one year Blog Anniversary is coming up in about one month ~ and I’ve learned so much in that period of time ~ I can’t believe how quickly it’s gone by.
During that period, I’ve tweaked my online businesses tremendously. I’ve dropped many affiliate programs and shut down some online business ventures that were just time zappers and getting me nowhere. Two areas that are still profitable for me are my eBay Store ~ Moomette’s Magnificents, and my newly redesigned CAM Virtual Assistant Services websites.
If you’re a WAHM do you ever feel like you’re working so hard in your online business, but the outcome isn’t changing to match all that effort?
It might just be time for some serious clean up.
It happens to all of us. We build and build and build, and then suddenly we’ve got all this virtual real estate out there. Problem is, we aren’t quite sure what to do with it all or how to leverage our hard work for maximum profitability.
Thankfully, Alice Seba (one of my favorite Internet marketing teachers) has come up with the perfect solution and it’s called: “Spring Cleaning to Maximize the Profitability of Your Online Business.”
This isn’t some flimsy eBook or 10-minute video, but rather a 6-week intensive step-by-step coaching program. It’s designed to help you clean out all the extra stuff that you’ve accumulated, identify and make the most of what’s working in your business and planning for long-term success. You’ll get to work directly with Alice week-by-week and apply these strategies directly to your own unique business. We’re not just talking theory here. You’re going to roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty, but in a very good way!
See, I’m really excited about this because Alice is the real-deal. She speaks from true experience in her own successful online business. Just the other day, a lady named Rhonda, left an impromptu comment on her blog stating:
“I simply love Alice Seba. I love the way she runs her business. I love her ideas and most of all I love her being my mentor to how I want my business to run. Thank you Alice for your hard work. Can’t wait to keep getting your emails!”
That’s exactly what you get when you work with Alice. Imagine how much ground I would have gained if I had known about this course before!
If you could use some hands-on help with your Internet Marketing Spring Cleaning, get over to the coaching information page right away. Registration is limted.
Find out more and claim your spot now at: Spring Cleaning Coaching.
Still on the fence? In all my time talking with and working with other online business owners, I’d say one of the biggest barriers to true success is a lack of focus. It keeps us from doing well with any one thing and can cripple us with the stress of having too much going on.
It’s no wonder. The Internet is a source of many distractions and so many ideas that we can easily become overwhelmed with all the little projects we are contemplating or already have on the go.
I know, I’ve been there too. I think we all have and that’s why I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that Alice was offering the 1st lesson of her ultra-successful Internet Marketing Spring Cleaning Coaching …FOR FREE!
There’s no obligation of any kind and you don’t even have to give up your email address to get it. She just posted the download links to her blog.
If you are dying to clear out some of the clutter from your online business to boost profits, get your first lesson “Taking Your Business Inventory” right here.
As soon as I’m done here, I’m going to finish my own inventory. It’s definitely an eye-opener and the first step to a super-focused new year.

Hockey Moms ~ Are You Frozen ~ Stay Warm with a Cabin Cuddler ~
September 25, 2008 by Moomette's Magnificents (Admin)
Filed under Reviews & Buzz, family, kids, parenting
Now that schools are back in session, I’m a little wistful. Ever since my daughters were younger, I’ve always been a mom who attended sporting events. My girls did soccer, travel soccer, indoor soccer, basketball, softball, lacrosse and cross country over the years. They were active from grade school, all the way through becoming letter-winners in high school and college.
As a New England native, I can’t begin to tell you how many hours I’ve spent on athletic fields in all kinds of weather ~ rain, snow, freezing cold and days that sometimes were over 100 degrees. New England weather can be so unpredictable.
Awhile back I posted a product review on this terrific new product called the “Cabin Cuddler.” It’s so versitile, it can be used when traveling by air, train, car & more!
The Cabin Cuddler is also great if you’re a cubicle dweller, like I am. But I really wish that this had been around when I was a soccer/basketball/softball/cross-country/lacrosse mom! While I don’t have sons, I do have a new grandson, so maybe I’ll be a Hockey Grand-mom some day….maybe.
The kind folks at Cabbin Cuddler sent me this terrific travel blanket so I can have one of my very own! It even has a pocket for my feet!
Start your Holiday Shopping early ~ maybe some mom, dad, grandma or grandpa would like a Cabbin Cuddler to bring to the games with them ~ football season is in full swing!
Thanks so much~ See for yourself, try the Cabin Cuddler today!

Spot Shot Instant Carpet Stain Remover ~ A Review
September 24, 2008 by Moomette's Magnificents (Admin)
Filed under Reviews & Buzz, children, family, kids

For all my new readers ~ I’d like to point out that I’m from New England ~ Connecticut specifically. Connecticut is known as “The Land of Steady Habits.” What that means is, we Yankees pretty much don’t like a change in routine.
For example, I still live in the same town I grew up in and; live in the one and only house I’ve ever owned. If my husband ever moves, they’re going to have to carry him out feet first.
Now I live in an historic town in Connecticut, and my house is a colonial. The Colonial has all sorts of neat features ~ crown moldings, 6-panel wood doors & beautiful hardwood floors. But you can’t see those beautiful hardwood floors, because they’re covered up with wall-to-wall carpeting.
I know, Martha would have a trauma if she knew that. But you see, my husband is a bit of a curmudgeon. He doesn’t like change. I’m on about my third change of wall-to-wall carpeting, and as long as I stay married (going on 35 years), I’ll never see those hardwood floors in my living and dining room.
We’ve raised two grown daughters in this house, and now are blessed with two grandchildren. Can you imagine the traffic my carpets have seen?
I ‘m delighted to have the opportunity therefore, to review Spot Shot Instant Carpet Stain Remover.

Spot Shot Instant Carpet Stain Remover instantly eliminates the toughest carpet stains-even OLD stains! Spot Shot works great on pet stains, coffee, spaghetti sauce, grease and oil, marker, wine and more!
Just spray on Spot Shot and blot the stain away. No need for rubbing or scrubbing. It’s that simple.
This product is everything it claims to be, and then some! My daughter uses it in her house as she has the two kids, a Black Lab and a cat. Occasionally the Grand Dog comes to my house to visit or stay over, and, let’s just say she’s a New England dog too. Although she adapts pretty well when we doggie sit, sometimes her tummy gets a tad upset.
Spot Shot instantly eliminates the toughest pet stains – and their equally tough odors. Specially formulated to get out the worst stains – including cat urine, dog feces and the always-popular dirty or greasy paw prints – while still being gentle to your carpet’s fibers. Spot Shot’s NEW Non-Toxic Pet formula was created specifically for pet problems, and is safe to use around your pets when used as directed.
I just spray the Spot Shot on to whatever damage the grandkids or Fido has done, and my carpets are clean again! We are certainly not lacking in carpet in this house to try the product on! What I really like about this product is that it’s Non-Toxic, safe for children and environmentally friendly! Plus ~ it has a Money Back Guarantee ~ now how many products come with that incentive to try!
Thanks Spot Shot, guess I’ll never see those hardwood floors as long as my carpets come out so clean using this product! Check out Spot Shot at http://www.spotshot.com/

Are You Ready to Quit Your Day Job ~ Is the Work at Home Life Really Your Cup of Tea?
September 24, 2008 by Moomette's Magnificents (Admin)
Filed under VA, blog resources, business, career opportunities, e-commerce, internet marketing, sahm, wahm, wahm tips

Many of my readers know that I’ve set up my online businesses so that they’ll be up and running for when I retire. I have this blog, my Mama Mentor blog, as well as my Virtual Assistant business and my Boutique Moomette’s Magnificents Olde Towne Shoppes where I specialize in hand crafted artisan items. Additionally, I’m an eBay Power Seller at Moomette’s Magnificents.
My oldest daughter also started her own Virtual Assistant business, and has had to adjust her working hours in order to take care of ‘Lil Moomette, and my 6-week old grandson.
Mothers who earn their living working from home often find themselves the envy of those who hold down “real” jobs, but unless you are one of those moms making your living working from home, you probably aren’t aware of the challenges involved.
So, if you’re thinking of giving up your job to work from home, or maybe you just want to test the waters to see if it’s do-able, here are several factors to take into consideration.
First and foremost, you have to decide what exactly you are going to do to earn money as a home business owner.
Being computer literate certainly opens up many more possibilities, but there are other ways to work from home as well. Your interests and talents should be considered as well as how much of an income you are hoping for.
If you are going to work from home, you should probably be the kind of person who enjoys being somewhat in control.
This means that you need to be comfortable with making decisions and planning your time. With a job, these elements are something you normally don’t have to worry about as it’s already decided and planned for you. As your own boss however, these responsibilities fall squarely on your shoulders. Your decisions directly affect your home business and in turn your bottom line profit.
You must be flexible.
Sometimes you’ll be forced to change and adapt to situations. If you get a phone call to pick up your sick child from school and a deadline is looming, you may need to work through your night out with the girls or forego your eight hours of sleep. On the other hand, if it’s a beautiful, sunny day and the garden beckons, you have the ability to shuffle your day and spend some time puttering in the great outdoors or anything else you may be itching to do.
Time management skills are another extremely crucial factor to work at home success.
There will be no time card to punch, no boss telling you what to do or how much time to spend on a specific task, but you will need to decide how to divide up your working hours so that the majority of your time is spent on completing money earning tasks.
You will have to be able to keep your attention focused for blocks of time. This is one of the most challenging aspects of managing a home business, particularly if there are children present while you are attempting to work. Although it can be difficult, it is possible with a bit of forethought and lots of patience.
Organization goes hand in hand with time management.
Setting up your working space, maintaining a supply of needed materials, using a planner to do both long range and daily planning, and having a bookkeeping system in place, are a few of the important organizational tasks facing the work at home business owner. For a work at home mom, you’ll have to manage and organize your business as well as your family, so be prepared for double the planning.
The nice part about setting up a home business is that it doesn’t have to be an all or nothing type of venture. If you’ve never experienced working at home, why not try setting aside a few hours here and there to see if it’s really for you? This will allow you to try your hand at it before making the major commitment of quitting your current J-O-B.

Free Reprint – PLR vs. Free Reprint Articles: Which is Best for Your Blog?
September 22, 2008 by Moomette's Magnificents (Admin)
Filed under baby boomer, blog resources, e-commerce, internet marketing, sahm, wahm, wahm tips, work at home
by Nicole Dean
Are you a Work-at-Home mom who’s trying to start a Blog or promote your online business? Perhaps you’re trying to develop a second income to help with the finances in this challenging economy, but don’t know where to start. Maybe you have an idea for a particular niche, and are just looking for some ideas to expand on.
Content is always in high demand. Right now the focus seems to be on Private Label Rights (or PLR) articles. PLR articles are pre-written and sold in packages to online businesses looking for content. The big selling points of PLR articles are that you may edit the articles and that there is no author bio required (so they don’t have any outbound links).
Compare PLR articles to free reprint articles. Free reprint articles from places like ezinearticles.com or freeaffiliatearticles.com are written by people who have something they’d like to share. (Or, they are sometimes written by people just publishing junk, in the hopes that they’ll get some incoming links. But, good article directories will delete those, so we’ll focus on the good ones here.)
So, which is better? Honestly, each has its place. Sometimes you’ll find an excellent free reprint article that you’ll want to share with your readers and you won’t mind a bit having an outbound link, especially if there is an affiliate program associated with it. The free reprint article added value to your readers, and you didn’t have to write the article. That’s what free reprint articles are all about.
Other times you’ll already have an idea in mind for a topic and you’ll just want a boost getting that section of your website done. If you run across a high quality PLR package on that niche, you’re set to go.
So, how do you know which PLR service or membership to choose? Here are some guidelines to follow:
1. Some PLR sites offer a monthly membership where you receive a grab-bag of articles – on any topic. If you already know what you need, this may be a waste of money. Other PLR sites will list topics and you can buy the articles in a shopping cart. That ensures you receive the articles you need when you need them.
2. Are the articles written by professional writers with experience? Or are they outsourced to the cheapest overseas help they can find – no matter the quality? If the articles are going to be a reflection of your business, you’ll want to ensure that the articles are well-written.
3. Who’s running this thing? Is the PLR site run by someone who knows about content or someone who thinks they can ride the content wave and make a quick buck? Make sure you’re hitching your wagon to someone who knows what they’re doing.
Those are just a few tips to keep you from wasting money on a PLR site that you can’t use. Continue to use free reprint articles, but look into PLR articles as well. They can both benefit your website and your business.
Nicole Dean invites you to check out EasyPLR.com – where you’ll find high-quality PLR articles on niches sold in very limited quantities.
I, personally, recommend this site for all your PLR article needs.
