Achieve Your College Degree through Accredited Online Distance Learning Courses

In 2008, I’d like to share my enthusiasm for online education and hope to inspire other women to complete their college degrees.

I guess I was ahead of my time ~ before online and non-traditional studies really took off.

I firmly feel that finishing one’s college education gives you a heads-up advantage in today’s world ~ online courses gave me the confidence to start my online ebiz ebay store, Moomette’s*Magnificents and establish Moomettes Mineral Makeup.

Just a bit of short history ~ I marched off to college in the early ’70s with the rest of my friends. My then boyfriend (now DH) was off to school in Milwaukee, and I was at an all-women’s college in Massachusetts. We each lasted one year at those schools and came home. Then it was in and out of various colleges, FT, PT, and eventually we got engaged and went to work FT to save money to get married. End of college studies. Life got in the way.

Over the years, after working in various administrative assistant jobs, it had been in the back of my mind that I really wanted to finish my degree. By that time 20 years later, I had a FT job, house, 2 young kids & thought ‘how in the world am I ever going to do this?’ Then I happened upon an ad for adults to complete their degrees through non-traditional methods, including online, correspondence & video courses at Charter Oak State College.

Charter Oak accepts students from all 50 states. All my credits from various institutions were evaluated, accepted and I was assigned to an Advisor who worked with me to recommend courses I needed to graduate with an Associates Degree. I then went on to finish my B.S. in Business Administration!

….To be continued in other posts.

I just completed my BA in Interdisciplinary Sudies from National Universiy online. I took all 3 years online and am so grateful for this option. I have children who have activites and a hubby who teaches and coaches. So short of having a nanny (which I could never afford), everybody would have had to make too many sacrifices in order for me to get a degree…but with online format, no body had to budge. I LOVE online format and reccomend it to all who are thinking about it. Next, I will be starting my CA teaching credential program at National University in January. =)

As a SAHM myself, I totally agree with your advocacy of online education. After enrolling in the Online Bachelor Degree in Nursing at Stevens-Henager College, my life changed totally. Online education is a boon in so many ways but what made the most difference to me was the individual attention I received in the program. Most college courses have too many students attending classes to assure any real one on one interaction with the professors. Internet education offers course material that is accessible 24 hours a day and students have the ability to re-read lectures and discussion as often as they require. Online students also have more interaction with their professors, as email correspondence is vital in this method of teaching.
