Block Island is one of my favorite places to visit. Although closer to the tip of Long Island in New York, it is actually part of Rhode Island.
It has fabulous beaches, and is known as a boater’s paradise. High Speed express ferries run from New London, Connecticut in a little over one hour, making it easily accessible as a day drip. You can also take your car over on the ferry from Point Judith, Rhode Island.
Once there, you can explore the island and all its beauty and sights by Walking, Scooter, Bicycle, Taxi, or renting a car. The ambiance is quaint and old fashion! Don’t forget to stop for some clam cakes and Del’s Lemonade, Rhode Island staples!

How lovely. I’ve never been to Rhode Island. It’s hard to tell, but those plants look like they might be rhododendrons.

The flowers are Rosa Rugosas (Beach Roses) and smell as lovely as they look! Sometimes there are beach plums, too!
