Want Website Traffic? Start A Free Blog! Tips for Promoting your eBiz through Internet Marketing

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008

In an earlier post, I spoke of how I recommended to a fellow forum member the benefits of how I started several blogs to promote my Shoppes site, eBay store and affiliates. Here’s additional tips to support that suggestion.

Want Website Traffic? Start A Free Blog!

Blogging has become increasingly popular in the past couple of years. There are more and more blogs created everyday on a vast array of topics. Both personal and business.

If you own a website, then you know how difficult it is to get exposure to it. Creating a blog is one of the best resources there is today for receiving that exposure.

Like anything else…it takes hard work on creating interesting content on a new blog and getting traffic to it. Focus on your website or business when creating new posts and always try and add something new everyday. Try and connect with your creative side…we all possess some level of creativity! Give it a try…you just may surprise yourself at what you manage to conjure up.

Topics:

Concentrate on what people may be searching for today on the Internet. A lot of people are searching for content for their existing websites, marketing advice, and/or finding work at home jobs and home businesses.

While some people may be just searching for friendship and are interested in simply having a good time…getting to know others, conversing about current events, funny jokes, and the like. Some people are interested in infant clothing, toys, various baby items, and parenting tips or advice.

For example: If your website focuses on women’s interests…then center your blog around women’s interests, support groups, parenting issues, bargain shopping, household items, recipes, or whatever your website content may be. Try and make your blog posts as interesting as possible to try and keep people coming back for more.

Tips On Getting Comments:

1) Simply invite people to join in on the conversations and encourage them to comment on the various posts within your blog description.
2) If you own a website and message board, and you have advertising space available for other webmasters or business owners…announce a contest on your message board offering free advertising for the person that posts the most comments on your blog. ( I have a good friend that has done this very thing and it’s working great for her.)
3) Give people a chance to self promote their websites or businesses through their comments.
4) Offer something free…for example, a free ebook or some kind of software.
5) Participate in message boards, announcing your blog, and request their opinion. Ask them to place a comment post and share their thoughts and opinions about your blog.

Promoting Your Blog:

1) Advertise your blog on various message forums.
2) Include your blog link in your signature within message forums and emails.
3) Submit your blog in blog directories.
4) Exchange links with other bloggers.
5) Write articles relating to blogging and submit them to article directories.
6) Advertise your blog in various newsletters and ezines.
7) Include your blog link on any websites you may have.

One Last Thought:

Have fun with your blog. If there is something (off the wall) that you want to share or you think is really amusing…share it in your blog. Write about anything you feel like writing. The possibilities are endless!

You can create a free blog at http://www.blogger.com. Or, you can search for free blog sites at your favorite search engine.

Recuperating or on Bed Rest? If you have an eBiz or Work at Home - Start a Blog to Promote your Business

Saturday, May 10th, 2008

When my DD was pregnant with ‘Lil Moomette, she developed preeclampsia and was relegated to bed rest for the remainder of her term. Now, mind you, when this child was 2, I purchased the book entitled “The Difficult Child” for my easy reading pleasure. To envision her on total bed rest doing puzzles or watching TV…I have to say I’m glad she was finally induced.

I belong to several networking forums, and one of the gals indicated she is somewhat of a shut-in and recovering from surgery, on bed rest and is looking for a way to pass time. Forum members wished her a speedy recovery and mentioned that we’ll be looking forward to her posts on her progress. I suggested she start a blog or ezine to promote her eBay business!

Why The Most Popular Home Based Business Opportunity These Days Involves A Blog

by Carael Knight

Today more than ever, chances are that if you have found a successful home based business opportunity, then most likely it involves either the heavy use of a high traffic blog or two or alternatively you’re making use of some effective classified ads to generate your targeted traffic.

It is no secret that popular search engines love blogs because of the fresh and constantly updated content found in plenty in this amazing new medium. Most bloggers have no problem enthusiastically updating their content daily or on a regular basis because they love their blogs since they give them “a voice” and a unique chance to publish their views and comments on a subject that they are usually crazy about. This powerful combination of factors has ensured that blogs have grown in leaps and bounds. The result has been the emergence of a powerful and effective medium that is by far the best for promoting any home based business opportunity.

In actual fact what happens is that the blogger uses the blog to work their home based business opportunity by directing some of the huge traffic to appropriate affiliate programs they have already signed up for. They mostly do this by making good use of affiliate links pasted at prominent and very visible positions all over the blog site.

So what happens is that the blogger has lots of fan blogging while at the same time working their home based business opportunity.

But blogging admittedly is not for everyone. And that is why there are those who use carefully selected effective classified ads to direct targeted traffic their home based business opportunity site.

Why just about anyone can make money online

Most people think that making money online is one of the most difficult things in the world and yet the reality is that anyone can make some serious money online. It really is easier than you think.

What makes it difficult is the attitude and the approach of most people. Many have plunged in blindly and inevitably the have failed. The net is full of these failures and they are constantly busy telling others that it cannot be done, just because they themselves failed.

Actually one of the biggest hindrances and obstacles to folks making money online is that most of us want to do it overnight and without having to learn anything first. This is a really strange mindset when you think about it because doctors train for years before they can be allowed to practice and commercial airline pilots also train for years before they can be allowed to fly passengers. So why should you expect to start an online business today and start making money tomorrow. Is that really realistic? Is it any wonder that so many people have failed in their efforts to make quick money online?

The big secret here that should not even be a secret is that anyone who takes a little time to learn the ropes and takes their minds off making money for a short time only will quickly find that they can earn much more than doctors and airline pilots after just a few months (instead of years) of learning. In other words anyone who is prepared to take the time to learn can make money online.

I’ve been Tagged! How to Meet New Friends and Get Aquainted with other Bloggers!

Friday, May 9th, 2008

I’ve been Tagged with a Meme by Kim, over at Accidental Mommies and What’s That Smell ! Kim is my new friend, and comments on my Mama Mentor Blog that she thinks she and I may be twins! I’ve often felt that way when I see other writers. I actually feel that way about Sue Reimer’s columns over at the Baltimore Sun. Sue is one of my all-time favorite columnists.

Tagging is a great way to network, meet new friends, and get acquainted with other bloggers!

So here goes on the tag:

Here are the rules:

1. The rules of the game get posted at the beginning.
2. Each player answers the questions about themselves.
3. At the end of the post, the player then tags 5-6 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know they’ve been tagged and asking them to read your blog.
4. Let the person who tagged you know when you’ve posted your answer.

1 ) What was I doing 10 years ago?

  • Continue to research ways to try to retire
  • Remember to eat

3 ) What snacks do I enjoy?

  • A real weakness for white pistachios, and of course, anything divinely chocolate!

4 ) Things I would do if I were a billionaire?

  • Quit my Full-Time cubicle job (in a heart-beat)
  • Pay of all my debt
  • Buy a vacation Condo down South where it’s warm! - a definite subject of a post to come!
  • Buy a vacation Condo up North in Vermont - for ourselves, DD & fam
  • Get my DH the motorcycle he always wanted but I never would ever let him get (maybe another boat, too)
  • Hire a house-cleaning person
  • Travel, for real, and not vicariously this time
  • Donate to several charities I’m grateful to and fond of

5 ) Three Bad Habits

Only 3…. ( agree with you here Kim, only 3?)

IncreaseTraffic for your Blog, eBay Store or eBiz by Guest Blogging! Meet Canada’s Baby Boomer Bloggin Gram!

Friday, January 25th, 2008

Hello from glorious North Vancouver Island off Canada’s West Coast. My name is Cynthia and I’m pleased to be Cindi’s ‘guest blogger’ today.

Like Cindi, I’m a blogging Boomer Gram– she and I met on the Grandparent Bloggers group on Blogcatalog (and if this also describes you, please join us!). Most of my previous off-line career was spent as a social worker, counseling women who had experienced relationship abuses. In June 2004 I volunteered to help out with our Association’s National Convention, and then I promptly went into six months (overdue) stress leave, and that led to “early retirement”. We sold out in Saskatoon (hmm… sounds like a country tune) and moved west to where our younger son was living.

We bought a big 70s box of a house with glimpses of Comox Harbor.

For a while we were a multi-family household, sharing space with our two adult kids, daughter-in-law and grandbaby. Today it is back to being just the old fella and I, chatting back and forth between offices across the foyer from each other. He does his financial wizardry (thank goodness!)with the stock market and I, like Cindi, am immersed in the more socio-economic on-line world. I have a few bob-lines out there in the ether as an internet affiliate, a long-ish term involvement with network marketing in Young Living Essential Oils and I’m working on a recent project to bring the affiliates and the network marketing together into a successful monetized business site. I’m really excited about that enterprise. My downline and I are working together to help each other with a synergy that just didn’t exist before. We have an exciting sense of “coming into our power” as creative, self-directed women of rich, varied life experiences. Take a look around the Web today and see what is evolving… women are a presence to be reckoned with!

Like Cindi, I found my way into internet marketing via blogs. Don’t blogs seem like a natural and womanly medium for communication? Many of us mid-life women have ventured out from the more introspective blogs (although we often continue build that in)into a nice knit of wisdom, warmth and market savvy. In effect, we’ve moved from the ‘home’ into the cyber-bazaar, chatting amongst the stalls, sharing our daily musings and our experiences while talking up our carefully selected wares for sale. I don’t think there is a category of blogs that women are not represented in as leaders. It’s our ‘thing’. Because women are traditionally the ‘keepers of the flame’– the nurturers and home-keepers– it is no surprise to find that smart, eco-conscious women are also driving the market. Cindi’s involvement with Affordable Mineral Make-Up is an example of that trend. Do you find that on any men’s blogsites yet?

I have selected a couple of my blogs for your sampling: my Granny Xpress blogs (I have one in Wordpress and one in Blogger formats) allow me to explore what it means for me to be a grandmother in the 21st Century. I blog about my fascination with alternative health and wellness at Raw Genesis and Healthia Cynthia sites. And in my Whirled Soup Blog I get into the real heart of nurturing with soup recipes and lore. If you want healthy vegetarian soup recipes delivered right to your email box, Click Here and fill out the form in the left border.

Thanks, Cindi, this was fun! I look forward to your ‘guest blog’ on my GrannyX site!
