One of our annual traditions is a mother-daughter shopping trip to spend Christmas in New York City and see the best unique Christmas decorations. It’s always fun to visit NYC and have our picture taken in front of the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree when it’s lighted!
New York City Shopping
A favorite past-time is shopping along Madison Avenue and looking at the Christmas window decorations. We visited Bergorf-Goodman and I picked up some Chanel Chance Eau de Toilette which is my daughter’s favorite parfum.
This year we did manage to get to the American Girl toy stores! My youngest daughter still has her original Felicity American Girl doll. She enjoyed seeing the beauty salon where the dolls were having their hair done!
We also shopped till we dropped at Bergdorf Goodman and had our makeup done at the Clarins makeup counter at Saks. One of my favorite places to shop is Anthropologie and look at all the beautiful home decor items. Of course, the Christmas decorations, ornaments and home dec at Bergdorf are always inspiring ideas, even if I have to try the DIY method!
What we mostly did was shop, have lunch at Pig N’Whistle, had a few drinks at the Rock Cafe while watching the ice skating at Rockefeller Center. We also stopped at some Irish watering holes for Pinot and Chocolate Martinis, and afterwards bought some cute photos of shoes for my daughter’s new condo along with a knitted headband hat for me from the street vendors!
