Ice Cream Parlor Set
It’s really been an enjoyable summer watching the grand-kids interact with each other.
Slugger just celebrated his first birthday and is really trying to keep up with his older sister, ‘Lil Moomette.
My husband and I got the kids a playhouse as a joint birthday gift. We liked to watch how our own kids developed while using their little imaginations during unstructured playtime.
I was recently offered the opportunity to review the Ice Cream Parlor Set from Melissa & Doug’s Play Food line.
What we like about this enchanting set is that pretend play encourages ‘Lil Moomette to use her imagination as well as aid in identifying her colors, while encourages sharing. The set includes:
- 2 ice cream cones
- 4 colorful ice cream scoops in different flavors/colors (strawberry/pink; mint/green; chocolate/brown and vanilla/white
- 2 scoopers
- It comes nicely packaged in a fun freezer case.
This toy certainly brings back memories for me too, because one of my first jobs in high school was scooping ice cream in the summer!
Melissa & Doug toys are an excellent value for their price, realistically designed and are a wonderful addition to any home school or pre-school curriculum.

Just checked out their site. I always loved their products, but how no clue how many different items they sell. I didn’t know that they sold such realistic looking animals. My son has a fire truck themed room and I always wanted to find him a large realistic stuffed Dalmatian to go in it and they have one! Super cool

My daughter would love this! I love that it teaches cooperative play, role playing and imagination, and can also help her develop social skills and practice speaking, too! In 1991 their first wooden toy is introduced, the Fuzzy Farm puzzle. Kids across the country told them they never knew pigs were fuzzy.
