Baby Boomer Women and Lands End Swimsuit Confidence Week

Baby Boomer Women and Lands End Swimsuit Confidence Week

Swimsuit-ConfidenceTo help women boost swimsuit confidence and join in summer fun, Lands’ End, together with hundreds of real women, will launch the first National Swimsuit Confidence Week May 23 – 27, 2011. The weeklong movement was created to celebrate women of all shapes and sizes as well as educate and inspire them to embrace their swimsuit beauty and have fun this summer.

Lands End Swimsuit Cape Cod

One of my favorite places to vacation is at the Cape Cod National Seashore.  Our family enjoys camping here in New England on Old Cape Cod in Massachusetts.  This photo was taken on Coast Guard Beach, and as you can see, this Baby Boomer Grandmom still enjoys being a bathing beauty.

I’m petite, and I’ve long given up wearing a bikini and now feel more comfortable in a swimsuit tankini for a full figure so I can build sandcastles with the grandkids at the shore!  Now I look for sylish swimsuits for mature women over 40 or 50.  The one I’m wearing is a two-piece and has a skirt which isn’t too short, yet is still flattering.

Add an attractive cover-up and we can stroll the boardwalk confidently and … still turn heads?

Don’t you think the magnetic ankle bracelet adds a nice touch? Plus it offers ancient healing properties for those pesky little ailments!

I’ve been a dedicated Lands End shopper since the early 1980s when my girls were babies.

Here is how you can participate in the efforts:

  • Get the Twibbon – Go to http://twibbon.com/join/I-Have-Swimsuit-Confidence-2 and display the “I have swimsuit confidence!” Twibbon on your Twitter profile photo.  Send a tweet to @LandsEndPR proclaiming “I have swimsuit confidence!” #landsend for a chance to be entered to win a $500 Lands’ End gift card – winner announced May 27.
  • Participate in a Week of Tweets – Mark your calendar each day May 23 – 27, 2011 from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. CDST so you can join in the series of National Swimsuit Confidence Week events on Twitter. Follow @LandsEndPR and tweet at #landsend.  We will be announcing exclusive swimwear promotions, giving away great prizes and inspiring women to embrace their swimsuit beauty.

Spread the word, join the movement and embrace your swimsuit confidence this summer!

  1. I wish I had swimsuit confidence. I think that would come with the right suit. Finding that right one is the hard part.

  2. Go for it Cindi! You look mahvaleous! I just bought a new suit and I’ll give it a try.

  3. Saw your color version over on Land’s end! You are rocking it girly!

  4. Love the look and agree, you can still turn heads! Confidence plus an angle bracelet, win/win!

  5. I just ordered a Land’s End swim suit today. Before today, I’d never spent more than $25 on a suit. Maybe that’s why I never found one that fit right. I’m hoping I’ve gotten a suit based on recommendations that is a good one.
