Rosie Hippo Classic Children’s Toys

When my husband and I were kids a long time ago, one of the only places to get toys was at the major department store in downtown Hartford.  The toy department was located on the 11th floor.  We both can remember the elevator or escalator ride up to the very top, where we entered what was a proverbial kids wonderland.

The department store is long shuttered and gone, a victim of the changing times.  But the kid in us lives on.

Our kids are grown, but we have welcomed grandchildren, and now have the opportunity, once again, to revel in picking out toys.

Sometimes it’s impossible to drag him out of toy stores.  Of course, now that we have a grandson, it takes even longer.  I, on the other hand, love to shop online.

I recently had the opportunity to review the Pulling Waddle Dog from Rosie Hippo.

My grandson, Slugger just turned one and at the perfect age to pull this little around and watch him waddle! The Pulling Waddle Dog has a flexible body, and all of his wheels touch the ground as he moves even when the surface is not perfectly flat.

If you’re a mom or grandmom looking for a special toy for a toddler, I would recommend this action toy.  It’s also great for daycare or homeschooling.

Rosie Hippo’s gorgeous selection of imaginative and delightful toys are primarily manufactured in the United States and Europe, or as part of fair trade operations.   They’re made of quality materials such as sustainable wood and organic cotton.

The company is a family-owned and operated business located on the East coast, specializing in unique, natural, organic and handcrafted products, whose philosophy is that childhood is a time of excitement, enthusiasm, education and exploration, and that every child’s learning and development is a special gift to be nurtured and enjoyed.

Kim Bloom is a cancer survivor who left the corporate world to focus on parenting and running an independent toy boutique and spread her commitment to cancer, children’s, and environmental foundations.

My MIL has wooden toys that her father made and she just loves to watch the grandkids play with them.

I just love wooden toys. They’re timeless, they’re durable, and kids love them. The only problem that I have with my granddaughters wooden toys is that the new puppy loves to eat them when I’m not looking. My fault but frustrating to get under control!
