Topless Undershirt – Blush Accessories – Review and Giveaway

Fall Fashion Idea

Topless Undershirt from Blush Accessories<

The Topless Undershirt

Fall is a great time to experiment with shakin’ up your fashion look.  Whether it’s for Back-to-School, business casual, or around the house, everyone likes a change now and then.

My fashionista girls are really into layering, and I’ve given it a try too!

Blush AccessoriesI’ve recently had the opportunity to review the Topless Undershirt from Blush Accessories. It’s a smart way to add the look of layering without adding the extra bulk and straps.

This idea is similar to the tube tops that I used to wear when I was a teenager.

Unlike a tank top or long shirt, it doesn’t  have straps which can cause your undershirt to ride up and will stay in place. Since there aren’t any straps, you’re able to adjust it to any length you choose -  whether it’s over the top of your jeans or all the way down to your thigh.

These would look so stylish under sweaters this fall, or any time of year!

The top has a tapered shape and are made from a polyester/rayon/spandex blend. They’re made without any cotton and are pre-shrunk.

The topless undershirt is a frugal way to extend the life of your wardrobe – rather than throwing away any of your favorite shirts that have shrunk in the dryer,  add a little flair and pizzazz with one of the many colors and patterns that are offered!

Also available in Maternity styles for Moms-to-Be!

The Topless Undershirt comes packaged in a cute little bag that you can repurpose!

Blush Accessories is offering my readers a promotional discount of 20% off 2 undershirts or more~ just mention that you read the review here at Moomette’s Magnificents.

Use Promo Discount Code: welovebloggers

Available at select retail locations.

Back-To-School: Team Sports & Customized Clothing

This and That

Youth Soccer Team

Both of my daughters were active in sports from elementary school on up through college.  As a matter of fact, today my youngest daughter participated in a benefit mud-volleyball tournament for epilepsy.

As a mom, we always fear the dreaded sports-related injury phone call.  Even though she’s 22, I’m still getting them.  We had to pick her up from the ER today after an asthma attack on what has been the hottest day of the summer here so far.

My charming son-in-law is involved in athletics and as such, has to shop for team shirts for the kids.  That task can be quite daunting.  In the past, my husband has had hooded sweatshirts printed up for business promotion, and gave our son-in-law some pointers.

Indigo Clothing offers t-shirt printing and is a simple to use website to order online.  They try to offer the lowest prices around and believe that excellent customer service is important. Their clients range from blue-chip companies to church groups and student clubs.

Major discounts are available on bulk orders  if you use Code: StockClearance, and there’s a Student Cash Back of up to 20% off their list if you use Code: Cashback.

If you’re a parent looking to promote your team or PTA school fundraiser, or perhaps a businessperson looking to gain exposure for your company, Indigo promotional clothing is an easy way to get the job done.

Back-To-School In Style With Carolina Pad: Review and Giveaway

Back-To-School

Carolina Pad Kendall Kollection

Carolina Pad Kendall and Sasquatch Collections

First Day of Kindergarten

First Day of Kindergarten

In a few weeks it will be Back-To-School, and I’m a little melancholy.  You see, my youngest daughter recently graduated college and it’s the first time in oh how many years that I won’t be sending my prodigy off to school.  At least, not for awhile, as she’s taking a break before starting on her Masters degree.

No waiving to the school bus any longer – time goes by so quickly, and the kids grow so fast!

I’ve recently had the opportunity to review a line of  Back-To-School product from Carolina Pad and Paper.

Carolina Pad Logo

Our products rock – at least that’s what our consumers tell us! With trendy design and great function, Carolina Pad notebooks, binders, and other school and office products stand out from the crowd. You might also catch a glimpse of our fashion collections, with clever names like Hot Chocolate and Pattern Play, on hit shows like 90210, Greek, and Gossip Girl.

There are two exciting lines that have been recently released, and Carolina Pad is generously offering a Giveaway to readers of Moomette’s Magnificents.  Whether you homeschool or have children, nieces, nephews or grandchildren that you’ll be waiving goodbye to on the school bus, you’ll want to check out these school supplies:

Sasquatch – Leave Nothing But Tracks

Carolina Pad - Sasquatch – Leave Nothing But TracksMade from recycled materials, these beautifully designed notebooks, folders, binders and divider tabs also include an environmental education component that reminds young people about everyday actions they can take to become even better stewards of the environment.

The product collection is appealing to school age girls and boys as well as moms who want to teach their children to live green. Sasquatch products enable them to express their love of the environment through nature-oriented designs and to learn how they can make the world a better place.

Carolina Pad’s Sasquatch Web site,  is an interactive destination designed to give visitors information on environmental issues. From interactive games to informative tips, blogs and links to additional green resources, kids can use the site to make a difference. They can also connect with Sasquatch through Twitter and Facebook.

Kendall Kollection – Inspired by a Special Little Girl

The notebooks and office supplies in this collection are not only eye-catching and beautiful, but they are also a small way for a designer and a company to give back to a little girl who was stricken with leukemia.

Here is a little more about Kendall’s story.

When Jacqueline Savage McFee, signature designer for Carolina Pad  – the industry leader in trendy school, office and organizational fashion products, got the devastating news that her two-year-old cousin, Kendall Sierens, was diagnosed with leukemia, it brought things into perspective for her. It also created a spark. The Kendall Kollection – a collection of colorful high-end school supplies inspired by the artist’s young cousin – was born in 2008 and has been raising funds and awareness for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The partnership between Jackie McFee, Carolina Pad and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society continues for 2009 with fresh new designs.

Kendall is now almost six-years old and in remission, but the battle continues for thousands of other children just like her. Carolina Pad looks forward to another year of helping The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in its effort to find cures and better therapies for patients with leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma.

Mothers and their daughters adore the look of the collection, but really love knowing that purchasing these products helps those in need.

Available at major national retailers including Wal-Mart, K-Mart and Office Max, as well as grocery and drug store chains.

Back-To-School: SmartKnitKIDS Sensitivity Socks – Review and Giveaway

Back-To-School

SmartKnitKIDS Seamless Socks

SmartKnitKIDS

Now that it’s August, the Labor Day holiday weekend is almost around the corner, and that means it’ll be Back-To-School!

This is the first time in 17 years that I won’t be sending one of my girls off to school – they’ve both graduated college!

It won’t be too long though before ‘Lil Moomette will be off to kindergarten.  I’m sure I’ll be right there when her mom is taking that first school picture.

I actually have quite a collection of pictures and even continued the tradition right up to the time we packed up the mini-van or car and sent them both off to college!

Both of my girls went to private all-girls schools, and had to wear uniforms.  The oldest couldn’t stand to wear tights or socks, because they would always bother her feet.

SmartKnitKIDS Sensitivity Seamless SocksI’ve recently had the opportunity to review SmartKnitKIDS seamless socks.

SmartKnitKIDS seamless crew socks are perfect for kids with sensory processing disorder, or for those who just won’t wear socks with seams.

The patented form-fitting design ensures that these socks fit like a second skin – they won’t wrinkle or bunch. The tops of SmartKnitKIDS socks are also elastic band-free, which assures that the kids won’t have any annoying and sometimes painful indentations on their legs.

SmartKnitKIDS socks are available in white, pink, purple, navy & black.
A size chart makes finding the right size easy.

For more information visit: SmartKnitKIDS

Moomette’s Magnificents  is hosting a Giveaway Contest! For a chance to win, there will be one (1) winner of three pairs (3 pairs) SmartKnitKIDS seamless socks.

Get Organized For Back-To-School or Work: Busy Body Book – Personal & Family Organizers – Review and Giveaway

Organize Your Life

Busy Body Book Personal and Family Grid Organizer

Busy Body Book Logo

Personal and Family Grid Organizer

You would think that although my kids are grown, I no longer have to keep track of dance lessons, lacrosse or soccer games, cross-country meets and other school activities.

As chief mom (and grandmom!) around here, there’s still plenty of organizing to do.

I make notes of what days I have to pick up the grandkids from daycare; what day grandmom’s on-call to babysit when the kids go out on those Saturday night date nights; birthdays, anniversaries – you know how it goes!

Sometimes I even manage to fit in some personal time for hair appointments, manicures & pedicures!

Now that I blog , I still have to keep up with all the product review and contest giveaway schedules.

While there are pros and cons to digital organizers, in previous posts here I’ve dicussed under my work-at-home section of this blog the benefits of returning to good old-fashioned pen and paper as a means of keeping myself organized.

Busy Body Book Family Grid Organizer - GrapesI’ve recently had the opportunity to review Busy Body Book planners and organizers which contain a weekly GRID format to make  managing your time is a breeze!

The most efficient solution to every Mom’s scheduling chaos! Each family member, with their own personal column, can plan and track their activities while they organize and coordinate with one another “side by side.”

Busy Body Book Family Organizer - School

This organizer certainly would have come in handy when I was taking the girls to visit colleges during their junior year of high school!

Features that I like include:

  • 2 Monthly Planners
  • Months-at-a-glance -An overview to help plan ahead for the holidays, vacations, or special events.
  • Key contact pages -2 Pages for your emergency contact information, doctors, coaches, babysitters…
  • Removable shopping lists – Perforated pages for creating handy grocery or gift lists.
  • 2 Pockets – Inside front & back covers provide a deep pocket to hold important papers, receipts, coupons…
  • Bookmark – Easily flip to the current week with this unique bookmark that grabs the spiral.
  • Notes – A full page each week for notes, to do’s, lists, or alerts. Plenty of notes pages in back of BBB too to record and keep important information.

Busy Body Book Grid Family OrganizerPlus there’s a sturdy, clear plastic cover to keep it all protected!

Whether your kids are going Back-to-School or you homeschool, or you’re trying to organize and simplify your busy Work-at-Home Mom business, see how this organizer can help you save your sanity!

Tips For Buying Childrens School Shoes: Back to School Shopping –

School Days

Back to school shopping – Childrens school shoes

Back to School Shopping – Childrens School Shoes

One of my designated duties as a grandmom is to pick up the grandkids after daycare I’m grateful that I get to seem them on a daily basis.  My charming son-in-law is from Vermont, so the grandkids don’t get to see his parents as frequently.

My own mother-in-law lived just around the block from us, and was over visiting everyday, so my girls, ages 22 and 26, were fortunate that they got to visit with their grandmom often.

One of my fondest memories is that from the time the girls were little, Gram always would take them out for back-to-school shopping and buy a pair of shoes for school each year.  Gram didn’t like to see the little ones go barefoot at all.  We all know how quickly kids feet grow – the average pair of shoes lasts about three months.

Well, now the “shoe is on the other foot” and my husband and I are the ones buying shoes for the grandkids.  It makes us feel good to be helping out my daughter and her husband, and my daughter has fond memories of her gram doing the same thing for her.

If you’re a mom or grandmom looking for some parenting advice on baby’s first pair of shoes, Start-Rite just launched a new social community. It has some really neat articles about what to look for in first shoes, walking, along with videos on how to measure a child’s foot for a proper fit.

And for some of the wee ones, that means going to either pre-school, nursery school or Kindergarten for the very first time!

PakNaks are fun, soft rubbery 3-D decorations for kids (and adults too!) to personalize all of their stuff.
