Sugar Scrubs and More: Sweetly You – Review

Everything Nice

Sweetly You Ultimate Gift Package

Ultimate Spa Treatment

I live in New England, and in winter, our furnace is constantly going.  We have gas, forced hot-air heat, which is really drying to your skin.

As much as I say I’m going to try, I don’t seem to be able to get to a spa for a pedicure, massage or facial.  Thus, I’m left to my own devices.  Keeping my skin moisturized is a constant battle, especially now that I’m a Baby Boomer.

Sweetly You LogoRecently I had the opportunity to try some fantastic sugar scrubs from Sweetly You.

After using these scrubs several times in the shower, I feel like a new woman!

Kari and Justin Hoopes, the founders of Sweetly You, live in Cache Valley, Utah and have two toddlers ages 2 and 4.

Sweetly You offers an Essential Sugar Scrub that uses the natural power of Avocado Oil, Bees Wax, JoJoba Beads and raw cane sugar to leave rough, flaky skin touchably soft! Perfect to use during the harsh winter months. A great companion to our luxurious Foaming Bath Butter. Buff some life into your tired skin today!

Sweet You Essential Sugar ScrubI tried the Coconut Lime Verbena Essential Sugar Scrub, and matching Premium Body Lotion.  I also tried the Hawaiian Breeze Essential Sugar Scrub.  Talk about aromatherapy!

After locking myself in the shower for a respite, I used a loofah sponge and slathered on the sugar scrub.  Since I wear socks quite frequently (have to keep my tootsies warm!) sometimes it causes my skin to flake around the ankles and leg area.

This sweet-smelling sugar scrub exfoliated all that flaky skin away, and I applied the lotion on over moist skin afterwards!

Sweet You Premium Body LotionSweetly You has Scented Bath and Body products like Premium Lotion, Foaming Bath Butter, Sugar Scrub, Solid Perfume, and Dead Sea Bath Salts. Their unique Scents include Signature scents that are quite similar to those of Bath & Body Works, Victoria®s Secret any other divine scents you can imagine! You can also custom design your own bath and body gift packages.

Sweetly You’s shipping department goals are to keep shipping costs as low as possible for the customer.

Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day is coming up soon – or pick up a gift package for a Mom-to-Be!

If I Could Turn Back Time: Part 4 – The Kids Arrive

Time Passes Quickly Into The Future

Vintage Pocket Watch

I’m having so much fun this week trudging down memory lane. (I think.)

Actually, I’m on MomDot’s forum, and TellingDad, the only male member there, made a statement that gave me the inspiration for this post.

If I Could Turn Back Time

Our firstborn came along nine years after we were married – born in 1983.  The 1980s found me knee deep in kids, diapers, and work.

Falmouth, Cape Cod

Preggo - Falmouth, Cape Cod

I was eco-friendly, green and cloth-diapering before it even became fashionable.  You young gals today make me laugh – it’s as if you invented it.  We just DID IT.

Pampers and a few other brands were just coming out then, but my mom got me a diaper service for one month.  After that, I was on my own.  Diaper pails, Dreft and Borax.  And  big yellow safety pins.  I even think I kept some.

The big decision then, which stirred a lot of controversy was … do I go back to work.  There were two schools of thought – either you did, or you didn’t.  I went part time.

Which makes me laugh again, because foremost, my generation was fighting that glass-ceiling thing, which still hasn’t been settled.  We wanted to keep our careers on the fast-track, yet we wanted to stay home with the kiddos.

There was the playgroup, tennis/pool club set – and then there were those of us who had to work to pay the mortgage.

So really, this whole controversy is nothing new, and hasn’t changed in 20 years.

I worked three days per week in a law office, and made up the other two by working at home at night on a (gasp!) state-of-the-art Royal electric typewriter – which totaled 40 hours.

Fortunately, my daycare was split between my mom and my mother-in-law.

Days off found me down the Connecticut beaches

Or inviting myself over to my girlfriend’s house visiting my friends who happened to have pools.

Take note of the Farrah Fawcett – Princess Di hairdo….

Pool Party 1983

That first Mother’s Day was super fun with all the holidays – I really enjoyed dressing up my daughter!  When DD became a mom and celebrated her first Mother’s Day, it certainly brought back memories!

I used to love the Rothschild coat, hat and leggings sets – and even managed to get one for ‘Lil Moomette when she was about the same age!  Little stinker threw up on it the first time she wore it though.  Guess who footed the dry cleaning bill?

Darling Daughter #2 came along in 1987, and then the fun really began!  I never had a sister, so I was kind of happy that both of my kids were girls.

Happy Mother’s Day from Moomettesgram’s Musings

md17-1

Happy Mother’s Day to all my readers at Moomettesgram’s Musings!

Did you know:

Think of all the work that mothers do in raising their children. Mothers need to be celebrated! President Woodrow Wilson realized this on May 9, 1914, proclaiming the first Mother’s Day. He asked Americans on that day to give a public “thank you” to their mothers and all mothers.

I hope you’re enjoying a wonderful day with your familes.  Last night we spent an enjoyable evening out with the kids.  My charming son-in-law’s parents were down visiting from Vermont, and it’s always nice to get together with them.  It’s hard to believe that I’ve been a mom for 26 years now, and a grandmother for 3 years!

Don’t forget that Mom Mastermind’s “10 Day May Madness” starts today!   Each of the products are on sale for just $5 each, and normally sell for more than 4x that amount!

Let me know how you spent your Mother’s Day!

Make Any Mom’s Mother’s Day Extra Special This Year

mothersdaycake2490548723_363c30456a

The newest hat I wear now is that of taxi driver.  In addition to working full-time in an office cubicle (still) and of course working from home on all of my blogs, I now pick up the darling grand-kids from daycare and bring them home until their parents pick them up after work.

If I haven’t started something in the crockpot in the morning, or remembered to check the freezer before I leave for work, that doesn’t leave me much time to prepare dinner when I get home with my charges.

What I really could use as a present for Mother’s Day is for Rachel Ray to show up on my doorstep and say she’ll be at my beck and call for a week (make that a year?)  But that isn’t likely to happen!

If you are looking for a different Mother’s Day present this year to give to someone harried, give the gift of time management as well as convenience

Thinking of nutritious, great tasting and simple to create meals can be time consuming and stressful for many mothers.  Deciding on what to make and putting together dinner for their family is a challenge.  Many moms can spend hours each week just planning.

If you are looking for a gift that will not only save Mom, your favorite sister, sister-in-law (or Grandmom!) some time, but also make her entire family happy and satisfied with a delicious meal, look into a menu planning service.

Menu Planning Services are an extremely convenient and effective way to help mom plan the family dinner each evening of the week. But planning what to cook for each dinner is just the beginning. Such services generally also include easy to follow grocery lists that show all the ingredients for the meals of the week, so mom can easily shop one time and pick up all the ingredients she needs to prepare each week’s meals. No more running to the store each day after work and wasting precious time that should be spent with you.

Menu Planning is also especially helpful for those that are on a budget or who would like to save more. You can save hundreds of dollars each month by not taking the family out to eat, and instead providing a tasty and nutritious meal right at home.

With a menu planning service you can get recipes for every night along with easy side dishes and scrumptious desserts that can be cooked any time. Also, you also get a tailored shopping list for each week of food that compliments your meals. You won’t have to search all the recipes for the ingredients you’ll need. It’s already done for you!  Plus, you will receive many each month that can help you be frugal as well as  save money on your grocery bill and ensure your family is eating healthy, delicious and nutritious meals. Now wouldn’t every Mom love that?

If you are searching for the perfect Mother’s Day gift, give her the enjoyment of Meal Planning.

Carpool Karma CD – Make Carpool Time Your Time – Review and Giveaway

carpoolkarma

As a mom and Grandmom, I don’t get an opportunity to experience too much solitude except when I’m alone driving my car.  That’s why you’ll often see me on Twitter, tweeting and getting most of my creative writing done at night, when the house is quiet.

On one of my recent posts, I mentioned how I’ve once again earned the title of designed carpool driver since my new duties include picking up the grandkiddos from daycare until their parents get home!

I’ve been asked by Mom Fuse to review the new Carpool Karma CD that “Turns Your Car Into a Brain and Body Gym.” Wow ~ can I give that a workout!

As a young mom I was always trucking the kids to gymnastics; Daisy meetings; dance lessons; field trips; softball; soccer, cross-country and lacrosse practices.  Once my oldest daughter went away to college, I was often found carpooling her friends home from campus for long weekends to towns in our surrounding area.!

The new Carpool Karma CD was developed by two moms who shared a passion for physical fitness and whole-body wellness.  Their philosophy is:

…make carpool time your time” and optimizes your time in the car

I found the music very soothing, and thought it much like New Age music. As I live in New England, part of the great megalopolis of the East Coast, the music was soothing enough to remove any instances of road rage that may have been going through my mind!   Current research shows that brain exercises help to prevent memory loss and Alzheimer disease ~ avoiding “overload” or in my case, “senior moments.” There are 25 audio tracks that include fun and stimulating mind and body exercises.

Carpool Karma is offering readers of Moomette’s Magnificents Reviews an additional 10% discount on purchase via their website if you enter the discount code MFUSE.

Mother’s Day is just around the corner on May 10th.   Give someone you care about the gift of Carpool Karma!
