Meet My Friend

Direct Selling Consultant
I’d like to introduce my readers to Meet My Friend, Jodi Albertini, whom I’ve met through blogging and invited to Guest Post on Moomette’s Magnificents.
Jodi immediately wowed me as a work-at-home mom who is dedicated to helping other moms succeed in attaining their goals. She has been a WAHM for the last 4 years; is a social worker by education; an interior decorator by business affiliation and a direct sales professional by choice.
Jodi has built a team of over 1,200 consultants in two years – which she is responsible for mentoring, and has achieved the highest title in this fabulous company. Additionally, she has spoken at several Scentsy engagements and conventions, as well as participated in training and informational videos for Scentsy. Jodi has also made several media appearances to speak to her success as a WAHM, and has recently began writing as an author on www.buzzle.com

With 2 years experience in Direct Sales and a current team of 1,200 consultants, I am frequently asked the “secrets” to my success. Of course, I could go on with what is required to build a business, elaborating on all the basic motions of growing a successful Direct Sales franchise. However, I truly believe that there are not too many true “secrets” to building a strong team and a GREAT business. Rather, I believe that success involves a series of personal choices that differentiate those GOOD consultants from the GREAT ones:
- Catch a Vision – Develop a vision for your business. Imagine what it will be like when you have achieved your goals, and then strive to make that vision a reality. No business is built overnight and big business does not come easy. However, having an internal perspective of where you want your business to land someday will drive your daily actions that will move you toward success.
- Share Your Enthusiasm – If you LOVE what you do (and you should), then express your passion for your business on a regular basis. Passion creates enthusiasm and enthusiasm is contagious. When engaged in your business, people should see the joy on your face. Soon those who are watching will want what you have!
- Be Bold – We often pass up business opportunities due to our own fears or insecurities. Achieving what we desire often requires taking a chance. Being bold does not mean that you lack fear. Rather, it means that you are making choices for the good of your business despite fear.
This list could go on and on. My perspective is that GREATNESS is not developed completely by what you do, but rather how you do it. What are some personal choices that you can make to move your business from GOOD to GREAT?

She is a Stay-at-Home-Mom, turned Work-at-Home-Mom, with 2 fabulous children and one incredible husband of almost 15 years. Jodi’s formal education is in Social Work and Counseling. Have a Craft Blog?

Here’s a great WAHM tip if you have a craft blog and enjoy doing any type of arts and crafts, sewing, kniting, crocheting, and more!
All Craft Content Mini Membership is a monthly subscription, which provides a steady supply of craft-related articles and product profiles or reviews. That’s enough PLR content for any blog/site on arts and crafts or family life.
Product Details:
Monthly membership to All Craft Content Mini Membership provides:
- 10 articles
- 5 product profiles/reviews
- List of affiliate programs
The membership also includes these bonuses:
APLC Publisher WordPress Plugin. An easy-to-use plugin for WordPress sites, which allows the user to automatically mass upload and schedule articles in .txt format. The plugin is free for All Craft Content members, and the license remains active for as long as the user remains a member.
Access to the members discussion area. Where members can get support and learn strategies for making the most of PLR content.
Search Engine Optimization Guide and Video. A guide and step-by-step instructions for optimizing PLR articles to get more traffic to your site.
Outsourcing Guide. A 21-page guide to saving time and making more profits by outsourcing product creation – the right way.
Format:
The articles and product profiles/reviews are in .txt format, which can be edited with any text editor. This format also work with the APLC Speedy Publisher and similar WordPress plugins.
The search engine and outsourcing guides are in PDF, while the search engine optimization instructions are in video.
The discussion area can be accessed online.
Thoughts on the Product:
If you have a blog/site related to arts and crafts, All Craft Content Mini Membership will make it much easier for you to publish new content consistently. The All Craft Mini Membership provides a total of 15 pieces of new content every month. This means you can easily publish a new article three times a week and still have some content leftover for your newsletter or Ezine.
Some of the articles have a common theme. Therefore, you can use them to run a series of related blog posts. Or, since you have permission to edit the materials, you can combine related articles into a special report.
The articles also tie into holidays and special occasions, so your content will always be relevant – as long as you use it right away.
The product profiles/reviews give a good opportunity to make affiliate commissions, since the featured products almost always have an affiliate program.
At $10 a month, each content costs a mere 67 cents. This PLR mini-membership is a no-brainer for the owner of a crafting site.

WAHM – ElyOrganics – Miessence Products – Guest Post

Meet My Friend
ElyOrganics – Miessence Organics
Certified Organic Skin and Body Care, Baby Care, Cosmetics & Nutritional Products
I’d like you to Meet My Friend - Erin Ely, from Ely Organics. I met Erin on twitter and we’ve kept connecting through the various social networking sites that we both seem to meet up on.
I’ve done several posts on organic products in the past and Erin was kind enough to send me a full-sized container of the Miessence Sunflower Body Wash to try.
I use it on a loufa in the shower and like the fact that it is Gluten-Free and moisturizes with a vitamin-rich organic sunflower oil. I just love the refreshing scent, which contains orange peel, lemon peel and lime peel oils.
You can follow Erin on Twitter @erinely
In the past, I’ve touched on topics about tapping into your interests and hidden talent, and parlaying them into a career where you turn your interests into a business. Many readers or their families have become victims of the current recession, and are actively seeking gainful employment. Some, like me, are considering either retiring, or trying to determine a move to another career that will spark our interest – whether it be something entirely different from what we’ve been doing in the past, or entirely new venture.
Perhaps you are off-ramping from corporate life to take time out to raise your children.
I have been inviting bloggers and writers to Guest Blog on my Meet My Friend meme to share their ideas and experiences with my readers who are interested in becoming a mompreneur
.
If you have a WAHM or Momepreneur topic of interest that you’d like to share and be a Guest Blogger on Moomette’s Magnificents, please contact me (see Contact tab above).
It all started one night in March of 2005, when I was surfing the internet for information, educating myself on chemicals in body care products when I discovered miessence® products and the ONEgroup business opportunity. I had been eating organic food for about 10 years previous and in 2005, I began to understand more about the whole issue of chemicals in body care products.
You skin is your largest organic and most of what you put on your skin goes directly into your blood stream, which in a sense is more critical than when you eat something with chemicals. When you eat something, it passes through your digestive tract and is broken down, this does not happen with the things you put on your skin. The patches for birth control and nicotine, etc are a prime example of this, what you put on your skin passes directly into your blood stream. Over the years I have become more and more concerned about chemical pollution in general, not just in body care products.
I have to admit,I was not remotely interested in a network marketing type of business opportunity, as a matter of fact I have never seen a network marketing product that I would buy or use. When I found ONEgroup website and the miessence® products, I read everything I could about the company and the products. Something that really captured my attention was that the complete ingredients list were displayed on every product page. At this time, they were one of the only companies that displayed their complete ingredients lists and they were the only company with an extensive line of food standard certified organic skin and body care products. miessence® have been food standard certified organic since 2001, making them the world’s first extensive range of certified organic skin & body care products.
I am a total organic nut and a fanatic when it comes to reading ingredients lists. I would never purchase a product without seeing the full ingredients list. When I read the miessence® ingredients lists, there were only names of things I could understand, all plants, no long chemical names. I knew right then, that I had to try them.
I ordered the products and began my business all within about a 2 to 4 day period. In January 2008, I created my website: ElyOrganics – Your Source for Miessence products. I had been a stay at home mom for 15 years when I discovered miessence®. While I was not looking for a business opportunity I had been thinking about going back to work. Being home, doing my own thing for 15 years, made it very challenging for me to want to work for someone. I had grown way to independent minded for that I felt.
At the time, I was a homebirthing, attachment parenting, extended breastfeeding, homeschooling mom and I was not interested in working outside the home. After using the products and identifying with the values of the ONEgroup, selling miessence® just seemed to make sense for me. The miessence® products are something I can get behind and can feel good about offering to others and I can run my business from home. This has allowed me the flexibility to be available for my kids when they need me and the resources and time to travel when it is convenient. I get to focus on the things in life that are important to me; my family, volunteering in my community and supporting non-profit organizations. I buy carbon offsets for my home office and the ONEgroup also purchases carbon offsets for all their manufacturing and shipping of miessence® products. A percentage of all enrollment fees go to support the David Suzuki foundation.
You can read more about this on my website: ElyOrganics.com

WAHM Tips Echoed Around The Blogosphere You’ll Want To Know About
June 4, 2009 by Moomette's Magnificents (Admin)
Filed under Veranda Chit Chat, baby boomer, blog resources, wahm, wahm tips, work at home
WAHM Tips
If you’ve been blogging for awhile, you probably are aware of all the controversy surrounding mommy bloggers and review bloggers. I’ve been following along for awhile.
Having taken all the posts under advisement, Moomettesgram’s Musings will be undergoing some changes. I’m going back to my roots.
This blog originally started out as a personal blog on Blogger, and then morphed into a work-at-home WAHM blog. Down the road, it became bifurcated and product reviews were added. Like Octomom or a lab experiment in a petri dish, I split into a third blog. Each blog had it’s own niche – WAHM, Reviews, and Mama Mentor for all my personal shenanigans and memes.
Do you know how much work it is to maintain 3 blogs? Just to show how crazy I am, I added my Virtual Assistant blog, and then because I like to cook, I added a Recipe blog.
But I’m digressing. Under advisement (through posts) I took the advice of JessicaKnows, Trisha over at MomDot, as well as Jessica Gottlieb Kelby at Type-A Mom where I also am Editor of 50-Something Moms and Erin at Queen of Spain and am now zipping it all up neatly into one blog again. A whole new makeover is taking place, and this blog will have not only a face lift, but a new name – simply, Moomette’s Magnificents. You’ll find all my work-at-home advice, product reviews, news of happenings in Dysfunction Junction, Connecticut, memes and more.
I’ll wrap this up by sharing some linky luv and tidbits that I think you might find helpful that are taking place around the blogosphere this week:

Soon you’ll be able to find all my advice under one roof again. It’s a big undertaking, not without logistical problems.
Stay tuned.

Here’s a Quick Way To Manage Your Business and Family Time Easily With Planners and Calendars
May 31, 2009 by Moomette's Magnificents (Admin)
Filed under Veranda Chit Chat, business, e-commerce, wahm, wahm tips, work at home
Here’s a Quick Way To Manage Your Business and Family Time Easily With Planners and Calendars
Our family has a long history of entrepreneurship. My in-laws were self employed and my husband is also. Not only do I blog, I’m also the unofficial office manger for his business, so we’re always visting our favorite office supply store to pick up supplies.
Visiting the office supply store is akin to a trip to the candy store for me. I enjoy looking at the latest technology gizmos and gadgets to stay on top of our game, whether it’s for the home office or personal time management. My husband is the technophobe so I’m the one who gets all giddy. He’s so unlike his late brother who we called “professor gadget” who had to have the latest electronic wonder of the moment. My husband is of the school of thought that sometimes tried and true methods work the best and you don’t have to keep ahead of the curve or spend tons of money or be confused by technology.
People who work at home can take pride in the fact that not only are they entrepreneurs building a business that they are proud of, but are also saving money by doing so. Of course, certain specific equipment and technology is needed to help them accomplish that end result. Sometimes I feel I am over-scheduled. I have a Palm Pilot PDA, my iPhone and I use Google Calendar. On one of my most recent trips to the office supply store I visited the calendar and planner isle. I was back to that old school of thought and am now using pen and paper as well as a leather-bound Franklin Covey Day Planner.
Manage Your Time With Calendars
If you haven’t seen the new calendars lately, you should check them out! They’re unlike the flimsy pocket ones that are freebies from your insurance agent, or like the ones your mom carried in her purse. Today’s calendars have taken on new and exciting functionality and purposes.
Several calendars that I can recommend that are functional and appealing to the eye are Mom’s Plan-It and Mom’s Family Calendar by Sandra Boynton. You can record every family member’s schedule using pens and stickers. The family calendar enables you to record each family member’s activity for the month by their name.
If your kitchen is the central gathering place for the family, hang a calendar in an accessible spot for everyone to enter their weekly schedule. Family calendars can help you to coordinate both business commitments and family life. Delegate the duty of entering the information to whomever is the most responsible family member. As a WAHM you can even enter the days and hours you will be working on the family calendar to try to get some productive work time scheduled.
Manage Your Time With Planners
Planners can also be used in conjunction with a desk calendar. When broken down by hours, planners work better for business. The time slots that were listed on your family calendar can be broken down into micro project commitments in a planner. You’re never without your schedule as a planner is very portable.
Franklin Covey offers a line of planners for a variety of needs. There’s so many planners on the market today – choose yours carefully so you don’t end up with features you don’t need. Look for ones that include:
- Removable pages
- Sections for notepads or notes
- Address Book
- Places to hold business cards
- Tabs for easy look-up
- Vinyl pouches for messages, bills, etc.
Staying on top of your daily work while keeping your business straight isn’t an easy task and needn’t be expensive. Even if calendars and planners are considered so yesterday by our techno-savy kids, they get the job done and less expensively.
My motto – whatever floats your boat.
