Custom T-Shirts for Women from VistaPrint: Get Ready for your next Fundraiser or Blog Conference!

Market Your Brand

Vistaprint Custom Printed T-Shirts for Women

One of the most common ways of introducing yourself to new clients is by distributing a business card.

Those who attend blogging or marketing conferences probably have received many such cards.  Even moms with children in daycare, preschool or playgroups hand out mommy cards!

My husband owns his own business and one of the ways he markets and rewards his customers is by distributing custom-printed t-shirts, caps and sweatshirts.

Vistaprint LogoI have all my business cards printed at Vistaprint, and was delighted to find out that they now offer Custom-Printed T-Shirts for women!

What a fabulous way to market your brand and blog at conferences such as BlogHer10, tweet-ups or affiliate marketing conferences!

I received three custom printed ladies T-Shirts: a long sleeved one and two short-sleeved shirts.

Here I am wearing the long-sleeved version with my Moomette’s Magnificents logo.  (Cosmetic makeup and hair products were also previous reviews!)

Let The Good Times Roll

Moving right along in my Retro Series, the 90s and beyond were busy times for us here in Dysfunction Junction.

The economy (to us) was pretty good, and we were heavily involved in all the usual sorts of parenting activities involving the kiddos – in other words, we didn’t have a life.

To add to the adventure, the Hubster started his own business, and we celebrated our 25th Wedding Anniversary in 1999.

Here’s just a sampling

Swimming lessons
Dance lessons
Pre-School
First Day of School
Soccer, Softball Lacrosse, Cross-Country
Overnight camp
Family Vacations
Driving Lessons

Occasionally I found time to par-tay (just to keep my sanity) no, I don’t drink a lot, but it seems that whenever I’m not the one taking the pictures, someone else is capturing me at my “best” !

We’ve celebrated some milestones, had some fun, gained a little weight, pulled out our hair, and obviously dyed it several different colors over the years!

I’ve had a lot of fun this week showing my readers who’s behind the computer screen in this Retro Series , sharing tidbits of wisdom, or hot-flashing, ranting, raving at times!

If you want to know even more about me (OMG), keep checking my 101 Things About Me tab that I’ll keep adding to!

Post Woodstock: Part 2 – The 1970s And Still Kid-Free

Summer has finally arrived in Connecticut- at least for now.  Today has really been a scorcher – in more ways than one.

Through the Looking Glass

I come from a long-lived family.  Regular readers know that I often write about  my Grandmom, who lived to be 101.

Nana circa 1920s

I’ve written how I have a Sixth Sense, and have an eery ability to know when something’s going to happen.  I’ve also  written several posts about my Grandmom that you just might want to read to see just where I’m coming from.

That’s what this week is all about.

Today I attended the funeral of basically what I consider my last living relative (besides my brother.)  My favorite aunt, who was also my Godmother, passed away at 95.

I’m a Baby Boomer, but I still want my mommy.

So it is with some trepidation that I am strolling down memory lane this week, looking at the photo albums to continue to give you a glimpse into  “who I am.”

Post Woodstock, I came of age as an adult in the 1970s.

circa 1972

We spent quite a bit of time down the shore, as my future mother-in-law always liked to rent cottages for the whole family to go to.  What was a bummer was that Connecticut lowered the drinking age to 18 from 21 in 1972, the year I turned 20.

Back then there really wasn’t too much to do – we’d go to the movies on Friday and Saturday nights – there weren’t any such things as clubs to go to.  It was pretty boring for  date-night.

I married in 1974 to the guy who was in my homeroom all through high school and took me to the Senior Prom

1974

Don’t you just love the hats that I picked out for the girls?

Actually, the dresses were halter style, and not all that bad.  The gal to my immediate left is my IRL best  friend, (Hi if you’re reading this, I miss you!) and the only one I keep in touch with.

We were kid-free for 9 years after we got married.

Within 2 weeks of being a newlywed, we bought a boat and traveled all over Long Island Sound, as well as to places such as Newport, RI; Block Island; Montauk NY;  Sag Harbor, NY; through the Intercoastal Waterway to Fire Island National Seashore – even after the kids came along

Boat

We ended up owning 3 boats over the course of our years

Moving on, we bought our first house, and I off to work I go as a Paralegal for the next 30 years …

Gotta Pay the Mortgage

and we all know the story about how I’m trying to retire from that dreaded cubicle job.  I’m going to end up like Dooce and be fired for writing about it if I don’t end up retiring.

All our friends and relatives were getting married in the 1970s.

Cindi

There were at least 6-10 couples from high school who got married to each other.  For years I served on the High School Reunion Committee.  We’re basically the only couple left that’s still on our first marriage.

I know I often refer to myself as the “first wife” and “second wife.

The ‘me’ of today, is not the ‘me’ who I was back then.

How about you? Are you still who you used to be?

To Be Continued….

A Smile Is Worth A Thousand Words ~ Find Out More about Porcelain Veneers

August 12, 2008 by Moomette's Magnificents (Admin)
Filed under baby boomer, health

I have a friend who recently became a widow within the last several years. During the first year or so after her mate passed, we would have a ‘girls night out’ and joined adult education classes at the local high school, signing up for fun topics such as ‘gourmet cooking.’  Other times we would sign up for evening craft classes, such as bow-making or calligraphy at the local craft store.

After a night of these fun events, we Baby Boomers did what any group of hard-partying gals would do ~ we’d go out to grab a bite to eat and engage in ‘girl talk.’  Inevitably, we’d end up discussing the subject nearest and dearest to us ~ ourselves!

After several attempts and failures at online dating services, my friend decided to go on a mission of self-improvement.  I, being still married to the same fella for over 30 years, was umm, not so motivated.  As she ate a late-night dinner of salad, while washing it down with a glass of water with lemon, my friend spoke of changing her hairstyle by having a cut and highlights done ~ I listened intently while drinking my chocolate milkshake and enjoying my Pastrami Reuben with melted cheese.  My friend spoke of how she joined a weight watching group, and was now exercising at a local health club.  I responded that I exercise by taking a 5-minute walk across the street for errands during my lunch to the corner drugstore to pick up a candy bar.

My friend then dropped the bomb that as a coup de grace, she decided to invest in having porcelain veneers cosmetic dental work done to enhance her appearance.  I remarked I just usually like to floss.

After sufficient mourning time had passed, my friend re-entered the social scene and began to date again.

Porcelain veneers are a common cosmetic dentistry procedure used to improve the appearance of your teeth.

Porcelain veneers can improve the appearance of :

• Uneven teeth
• Chipped teeth
• Severely stained teeth.

A porcelain veneer is a thin shell of porcelain that fits over a damaged or discolored tooth. Porcelain veneers have many benefits over other teeth restoration techniques. Some common benefits of porcelain veneers are:

• Durable
• Color and translucent similar to a natural tooth
• Not susceptible to decay
• Resists staining
• Natural appearance
• Can effectively reshape teeth

Once veneers are permanently placed they will feel like a natural part of your teeth.

My friend is smiling once again and introduced me to her new “significant other” at a wedding we were at recently! Now those are results that give her something to smile about.

Wedding Season ~ Bridesmaids ~ Get Acne Treatment Before the Special Day!

August 2, 2008 by Moomette's Magnificents (Admin)
Filed under baby boomer

It’s been a week now since the 3-day Wedding of the Season took place. I’ve put away the (so I thought) sexy little black Red-Carpet Runway dress that I wore. You know how you look forward to special events, and then after they take place, it’s like such a letdown that the big event is now behind you?

My youngest daughter, the college student, looked stunning in her boutique Jessica McClintock dress, and got many compliments. She’s turned into a real stunner. But I have to mention that we spent many long hours in the waiting room of dermatologist offices when she was in High School. She had tried every over-the -counter acne products and prescription medicines to try to clear up her skin.

Are you planning a wedding soon?  Perhaps you’ll be a bridesmaid this summer.

Oftentimes acne problems aren’t limited to just teenagers, and can manifest during pregnancy and even mid-life. If you find yourself looking for a solution, check out Get Acne Treatments.

Get Acne Treatments is dedicated to exhaustive and comprehensive research on all the best acne treatments. They systematically categorize products based upon the following criteria:

* Safety
* Efficacy
* Value
* Quality
* Company
* Customer Feedback

Their reviews are constantly updated, and their list of Top Acne Treatments changes frequently.

How to Prepare for a Wedding ~ Pedicures & Spa Message Therapy!

It’s going to be a busy weekend for me. My niece is getting married and the wedding is going to be held at one of the premier wedding facilities in Connecticut. That means that this Hot Momma Baby Boomer blogging Grandma has to get her act together.

Now that the lazy, crazy, hazy days of summer are upon us, I decided it was high time I treated myself to a pedicure. Since I’m going to be wearing some spiffy, trendy strappy toe sandals to go with my  boutique halter-back silk evening dress, my tootsies have to be up to snuff.

In addition to the spa pedicures that I get at the salon I go to, the icing on the cake is the back message that they give when your little piggies are under the dryer! The technicians must have gone to some terrific massage therapy schools to learn the trade for their careers!

Just call me “Twinkle Toes”~
