New England has some magnificent historical properties dating back to Colonial times. Perhaps Brownstones are best associated with Boston’s Back Bay. Hartford, Connecticut also has many beautiful examples of
Victorian architecture.
Victorian Architecture in Hartford
Some of these historical homes and apartments along Capitol Avenue in Hartford are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
I took these scenic photos of many of the beautiful brownstone buildings, doors and ornate wrought iron gates while on a daytrip walking tour of Connecticut’s capitol.

From Wickipedia:
The term Victorian architecture refers collectively to several architectural styles employed predominantly during the middle and late 19th century. The period that it indicates may slightly overlap the actual reign, 20 June 1837 – 22 January 1901, of Queen Victoria.

England is a country of great history. These images reflect the talent of the engineers of the Victorian era. I had visited India, long back, and took pictures of the palaces of the kings then. The doors were double that the ones showed here. Every country reflects a unique culture. Thanks for sharing the pics!
Historical palaces and monuments reflect how great a country is. These images show how much talented the artists of the Victorian Era were. The doors are really very beautiful. Even in modern times man want their doors to be like the ones showed in images above.
Great architecture… Victorian styles are really regal looking… Until now, the beauty of this style is just perfect! Thank you for sharing these pictures…
So beautiful! I love the history in architecture! I would kill for a large wooden door like in some of those pics!
So true Brit! What’s amazing is that of all the times I’ve drive past those buildings, it wasn’t until I actually was walking and photographing that I hadn’t noticed the detail and beauty of it all! We have to get out of our cars more often!

I love the doors and ironwork. I love to go on architecture walks, but don’t get on them nearly enough anymore with young kids.
