Home / Travel / Events / Off The Beaten Path | Connecticut Hidden Treasure Getaways | Scenic Photography
Have you visited Connecticut on a Daycation Getaway to see any of our hidden treasures? Many of the spots I've chosen would make excellent field trips if you home-school! I enjoy taking scenic photography, and have put together some of my favorite pictures of Connecticut which I'd like to share with you just in time for Fall Foliage season.

Fall Foliage Staycation Ideas

As a Brand Ambassador for the CT Chevy Girl on the Go program, for the past month I’ve criss-crossed the State of Connecticut for Girlfriend Getaways and have driven almost 1000 miles in a new 2011 Chevy Malibu.

Cornwall Covered Bridge Litchfield Hills Connecticut

As a life-long resident of Connecticut, even though it’s a small state (but larger than Rhode Island) there are many burgs, boroughs, villages and towns I haven’t been to in my lifetime.

A brand spanking new car, fully equipped with OnStar navigation so I wouldn’t have to rely on the Hubster for directions; Bluetooth hands-free calling; heated seats (hey, it gets nippy here in the a.m. come fall); sunroof for when it warms up in the afternoon and; gas in the tank on somebody else’s dime – gave me reason to get out and dine where the locals dine, and re-visit towns I hadn’t been to in oh, let’s just say a very-long-time.

As a photojournalist, I enjoy taking scenic photography.

A favorite book that I like to keep in the car is from the Off the Beaten Path series, Off the Beaten Path Connecticut – it has some fantastic suggestions for Connecticut Getaways.

  5. Cindy, you have outdone yourself with this one. I love all the beautiful pictures. CT reminds me of Western PA where we lived a few beautiful years. What fun to cris-cross the state like that and make a photo-journal of the trip. The food sounds great too, especially the lobster! I didn’t realize the new Malibu has all those great features and that gas mileage is super! Loved your whole presentation. The only suggestion I could make is to soften the background color of the title page and the ending credits page as it seems jarring.

    • Yes Pat, I can look back on the Chevy venture through all the photos I took. I’m actually going to have one of those photo albums made online so I don’t have to worry about printing myself.

I think the feature I liked best was the Bluetooth hands-free calling, especially with all the driving I did. DH always need to know where I was across the state!

As usual, you’re right on the money so I took your suggestion and changed the colors of the credits. The blue was actually from my UCONN Whrrl post (Blue & White, UCONN colors) and must admit I was lazy & tired at night when I used it, and didn’t feel like making another one in a different color. But I did tonite!

Thanks for visiting! Always a pleasure!
