It’s officially spring in New England, but many portions of the Northeast still have snow! Did you know that Maple Syrup is also produced in New York State?  I had the opportunity to attend the Annual Maple Sugaring Weekends event at Cumming Nature Center in Naples, NY recently to learn how pure maple syrup is made.

The Cumming Nature Center is a 900-acre preserve and environmental education center located 7 miles north of Naples and 7 miles south of Honeoye, in the Finger Lakes Region of upstate New York.  It’s a beautiful drive into the Bristol Hills, which are the foothills of the Appalachian Mountain Range.

April 22 is the celebration of Earth Day. What a beautiful daytrip this would be for the family!
