  3. For one thing, each device needs a special sleeve before it can work with the pad. So in addition to buying the pad (not cheap) you also have to buy a sleeve for each of your devices (cheaper than the pad, but it adds up.) At the time of this writing, the pad is about $70 and this sleeve for the iPhone is about $30. So just to charge your iPhone would cost you $100 when you already have a wall charger for it and third-party USB cables are about $1.
