Protect Your Pet’s Paws This Winter With Morton Safe-T-Pet Ice Melt

Share

Safe-T-Pet is an all-new ice melter product from Morton Salt that is kid AND animal safe. To help meet consumers’ ice melting needs, Morton has developed a full line of specialty blends and salt-free ice melt products to help make your winter safer and less stressful.

Less stressful.  Now those are two interesting words.  As a life-long native of New England, I’ve been around the block and know a thing or two about winter.  Normally we associate New England with words such as snow; ice; more snow; more ice.  I’ve never heard the words “less stressful” and New England winters put together, but it could be possible!

Blizzard of 1978

As an example – below are two photos from the Blizzard of 1978 a winter storm which clobbered New England, including my home state of Connecticut.  My husband and I closed on our house on the hottest day of July,1977 and the following February, 1978 one of the greatest snow storms in our lifetime caught us off-guard, with just a snow shovel to dig out of a historic snowfall and drifts.  Governor Ella T. Grasso called in the National Guard and shut the state down for 3 days for businesses and any travel except for medical workers and emergency vehicles!

Animal Safe

Bentley BeagleBack in 1978 we had an 8-month old German Shepard cross-mix puppy.  Throughout the years, our family has harbored various cats and dogs who brave the elements including snow and ice to do their duty.

Current resident furballs taking up residence are 3 cats, Bentley Beagle and the Granddog Black Lab.

Trust Morton® Ice Melters to Help Keep Winters Safe and Ice Free

If you’re a concerned pet owner, consider your pets’ safety when purchasing ice melt.  Safe-T-Pet is non-toxic, non-irritating, and less corrosive than salt or salt-based ice melter blends, making it safer for use with kids, surfaces, and pets.

Morton® Safe-T-Pet Ice Melt

Ice melters help prevent, or break-up, the formation of ice on surfaces. When purchasing an ice melter, it’s important to understand that not all melters are created equal. Choosing the wrong melter not only can cause you to spend unnecessary time and money on products that do not work in your winter environment, but ice melters can also harm sidewalks, driveways, pets’ paws and vegetation. The market is flooded with products making melting temperature claims and product safety claims that can be misleading or just plain false.

Morton Salt, the brand consumers have trusted and welcomed into their homes for more than 100 years, understands winter readiness. The company is not just America’s expert in salt, but also an expert in ice melting products. Morton understands that certain weather and environmental considerations require melting aids beyond plain salt.

NEW! Protect Your Pet’s Paws: Morton® Safe-T-Pet™

  • Melts below 15? F
  • Veterinarian Recommended
  • Salt and Chloride Free
  • Non-toxic and non-irritating
  • Safe-T-Pet™ is salt free and chloride free, instead using urea, an organic compound commonly used for plant growth.

  2. I learned that the color of the pellets are easy to see. I would like this, because of the fact I have to use alot of salt, because of my arthitis, I can’t fall down. I am concerned about my dog also tracking it inside, and my cats finding it.

  4. I subscribe. I would like to try this because in the past various melters and salt have irritated our dog’s paws. Last winter I had to wash her paws every time we came in the house because the stuff on the sidewalks was making her sore.
On their site they have many different ice melting products, including fast acting ones.
