The Cape has to be my most absolutely favorite place to be. We’ve been going up to resorts or caming there since before the kids were born.

If you’re fond of sand dunes, and salty air
Quaint little villages
, here and there
You’re sure to fall in love with old Cape Cod

If you like the taste of a lobster stew
Served by a window with an ocean view,
You’re sure to fall in love with old Cape Cod

Winding roads that seem to beckon you
Miles of green beneath the skies of blue
Church bells chiming on a Sunday morn,
Remind you of the town where you were born

If you spend an evening, you’ll want to stay
Watching the moonlight on Cape Cod Bay
You’re sure to fall in love with old Cape Cod

This year I went camping with my oldest daughter, charming son-in-law, and the two grandkiddos. (No mosquito bites this year!)

Sigh

We’ve stayed everywhere from Falmouth to Wellfleet, and each part is so unique for what it has to offer.  I must say our favorite part is what’s referred to as the Outer Cape – from the elbow at Chatham (where the Great White Sharks hang out!) on up to Provincetown.

Have you ever been to Cape Cod?  What’s your favorite part of the Cape?

If not, hope you’ll get a chance to visit New England some time! Enjoy the salt air, and don’t forget the fried clams, lobster, chowder suppers and Cape Cod Baseball League Games.!

  11. I’ve always wanted to visit New England. I’ve never had the chance. With a friend in the Boston area, we should really try to take advantage of it. Now if only to get my husband’s mistress, the Army, to give him some time off.

  18. Great photos! Lordy, I need a vacation! My sister and I went to The Cape a couple of summers ago. It was a side trip from Boston. It was very lovely. It reminded me a lot of where I live in Maryland. I don’t think I will ever move away from the East Coast!

  20. We were just at the Cape a few weeks ago and we’re going back again in September! I grew up going to the Cape, camping at Nickerson Park and spending days on Nauset Beach. Since moving to PA we haven’t been up much but this year I was able to take my in-laws along. There’s a great new deal site that’s launching soon for deals up at the cape. I just wrote all about it yesterday. We can’t wait to head back up in a few weeks! We’ve never been in Wellfleet, I think your photos have just convinced me to visit it this time!

  21. Beautiful photos of Cape Cod Cindi. I know how relaxing it is in there. I usually visit Cape Cod between May and October. I don’t know if you like fishing, but every harbor in Cape Cod hosts sport fishing charter boat. The scenery is so beautiful and relaxing, I always enjoyed every visit.
